Eat Breakfast

The best way to start your day is with a breakfast which is not only healthy but rich in protein. It is twelve hours or more since your last meal, and you need to provide your body with some fuel, so that your metabolism gets going. If you don’t have time to make breakfast, then eat some fruit or some cheese.

Choose Fresh Foods

There are forty or more nutrients which your body needs for good health, so eat the greatest variety of foods you can in order to provide these. This means that you need lots of different fruits and vegetables, whole grains, dairy products and cereals, and just a limited amount of sugars and fats.

Organic Foods

Processed foods contain lots of additives, preservatives and pesticides. These are not good for our systems. Gradually toxins build up in your body, and this can be detrimental to the functioning of your immune system. If you want to keep your body healthy, then as much of your food as possible should be organic, in other words not over-processed and not chemically treated.

Don’t Eat Out or Eat Fast Food Too Much

We are all very busy these days, and sometimes don’t have the time to prepare a healthy meal. Occasionally, therefore, it’s fine to stop at a fast food joint on the way home. But it’s not good to make this a habit, otherwise you could put on weight or start feeling unwell.

Skipping Meals is Not a Good Idea

Your food is the fuel your body has to have to keep going, and your brain needs it too to function properly. Skipping a meal will cause a serious drop in blood sugar levels, which produces a sluggish feeling, and also makes your body think you’re starving. When you do eat, your body feels it needs to store the food, and it therefore turns to fat. To prevent this from happening you should eat at least every three hours.

Choose Your Snacks

When you are feeling in need of a lift, or just a bit hungry, have a healthy snack, which you can have conveniently to hand. For example cheese sticks, crackers or fruit.

Eat Sitting Down

We so often multi-task these days, but it’s good to take some time, sit down and enjoy a meal with your family or friends. This helps your digestive system and is therefore better for your health.


Your body needs calcium to help it process other nutrients in your food, and to build healthy muscles and bones. You need to ensure you get plenty of calcium by eating dairy products and vegetables which contain lots of this mineral.

Limit Your Alcohol Intake

We often drink alcohol on social occasions, but if you drink heavily too often, your health will suffer. So limit the amount of alcohol you drink, and choose an alternative when you can, such as club soda or juice.

Drink A LOT of Water

Water is the best addition to your daily diet. It flushes out toxins, cleans out your system and keeps you feeling healthy.
